England beat the Czech Republic 3-0 at Wembley as Harry Kane marked his record-equalling 125th cap with a goal and an influential performance. The captain played a part in all three goals on a memorable night in north London. England took the lead in the 27th minute when Kane’s cross was turned into the Czech net by Vladimir Coufal. The defender attempted to clear under no immediate pressure, only to send the ball past his own goalkeeper.…

Anthony Albanese has marked the third anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel by honouring the 1,200 people killed and the 250 hostages taken, while reaffirming Australia’s opposition to antisemitism, racism and Hamas. In a statement, the Prime Minister said the attack had caused “devastation” and represented the largest loss of Jewish life on a single day since the Holocaust. He remembered those who were taken captive, those who never returned to their families and the people left permanently scarred by their experiences. Mr Albanese also paid tribute to the families who endured agonising uncertainty while waiting for news…
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has alleged that police seized private and confidential items during raids on his properties, as he challenges the legality of search warrants used by Thames Valley Police. The former prince is seeking a judicial review of warrants authorising searches of his cottage in Sandringham and his former home, Royal Lodge, in Windsor. The searches took place on February 19, his 66th birthday. His legal challenge, brought against Thames Valley Police and the Old Bailey, is believed to be the first time in nearly 400 years that a member of the Royal Family has contested the lawfulness of criminal…
The alleged Cornell gang rape case could face difficulties finding an impartial jury, amid intense debate on social media, a journalism professor has warned. Jeffrey Blevins, of the University of Cincinnati, said the online reaction risked shaping public views before jurors had heard evidence in court. He said traditional media generally focused on legal questions, including New York law, intoxication and consent. Social media, by contrast, had made the discussion more personal and emotional. The case has also prompted online harassment involving people connected to the lawsuit. Blevins said some of the men accused, along with their parents, had been…
