Carrie Underwood is being mentored by Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose as she works on rock music, according to sources familiar with the project.
The singer, known for her country recordings, is said to be developing new material that marks a significant change from the sound of her previous albums.
Underwood and Rose have performed together several times, including at the 2022 Stagecoach festival and during another performance in 2023.
She is expected to attend a Guns N’ Roses show in Atlanta this weekend and may join Rose on stage.
The American Idol judge has released eight albums, with her most recent record, Denim & Rhinestones, arriving in 2022. Her albums to date have been rooted in country music.
Underwood recently attracted attention after performing a cover of a Limp Bizkit song on stage, adding to speculation that she is exploring a heavier musical direction.
