Brooklyn Beckham was labelled the “odd one out” by fans after appearing alongside his wife Nicola Peltz and their friend Damian Hurley at a Halloween party in Los Angeles.
The trio, who have spent increasing amounts of time together in recent weeks, shared photographs from the celebrations on Instagram. Brooklyn wore a Superman costume, complete with fake abs and Clark Kent glasses, while Nicola dressed as Catwoman in a close-fitting leather crop top and trousers.
Damian, 24, matched Nicola’s leather look in a plunging one-piece inspired by a jumpsuit worn by Michael Jackson before the release of his Dangerous album.
In one photograph posted by Brooklyn, Damian stood with his arm around Nicola while Brooklyn remained behind them with his hands in his pockets. The image prompted a series of comments from followers who felt he appeared out of place.
“Bless him he looks like a spare part,” one person wrote. Another said: “Brooklyn looks so out of place.”
Further comments described Brooklyn as “the odd one out” and said he was “giving 3rd wheel vibe”. One follower asked: “Why is she wearing a matching costume with some other guy?”
Another suggested that “in this situation, a Batman suit would have suited Brooklyn better”, while a further comment read: “Nicola & Damian = couple goals”.
Brooklyn and Damian, the only children of David and Victoria Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley respectively, have been friends since childhood. Both have Sir Elton John as their godfather.
The pair were also pictured with Nicola at celebrations for David Furnish’s 64th birthday in Venice a week earlier.
Brooklyn and Nicola, who have been together for seven years, marked the anniversary with public declarations of affection on Instagram. Brooklyn shared a photograph of himself kissing Nicola on the cheek, along with images of flowers and a handwritten letter.
“My beautiful Nicola, you mean absolutely everything to me,” he wrote. “You’re my whole world, my best friend, and the most important person in my life. I’m so lucky I get to love you and spend forever by your side. I love you more than words can ever explain.”
After the Halloween comments, Brooklyn posted a photograph of Nicola looking shocked and wrote: “Yeah I am obsessed with my wife. Bring on the comments, I don’t care. She’s perfect xx.” He accompanied the message with a fingers-up emoji.
Nicola shared her own tribute, writing: “Happy anniversary my love, my best friend, my everything.”
