A 29-year-old man has been injured and arrested after a fight at a gym in Chicago’s West Loop escalated into an exchange of gunfire early on Sunday.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of West Randolph Street at about 1.51am, the Chicago Police Department said.
Police said the man had been involved in a physical altercation with another man inside a business believed to be the West Loop Athletic Club. The dispute continued outside, where both men allegedly drew handguns and fired at one another.
One of the men fled before officers arrived. The 29-year-old was found with graze wounds to both arms, his jaw and abdomen.
Investigators later established that he had fired a weapon. He was arrested and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was reported to be in good condition.
Police have not released a description of the second gunman, who remains at large.
Area detectives are investigating the shooting and charges are pending.
