Chris Brown’s former housekeeper has asked a court to issue an arrest warrant for the singer over his alleged failure to provide dates for an examination of his finances linked to a $9 million dog-bite judgment.
Maria Avila was awarded the sum after claiming she was attacked by a dog at Brown’s Los Angeles mansion in 2020 while taking out the rubbish.
According to court documents, Avila says Brown has not provided dates for him to attend court with his bank records. She wants the information to help her pursue payment of the judgment.
Avila also claims the financial information already disclosed by Brown is incomplete. She said it “calls into question the accuracy and completeness of [Chris’] disclosure with respect to payment sources associated with his ongoing tour”.
The judgment was initially set at $13 million following the jury trial, but the judge later reduced it to $9 million, a figure Avila accepted.
Her request for an arrest warrant is based on the allegation that Brown has made it difficult for her to establish his financial position and collect the money awarded in the dog-bite case.
