Stephen Curry’s first signature shoe with Li-Ning will be released early next year, the NBA star has said, following the end of his 13-year partnership with Under Armour.
Curry announced in June that he had agreed a deal with the Chinese sportswear company. The contract is reported to be worth 10 years and 400 million dollars.
Speaking at an event at Bethpage Black Golf Course in New York, Curry said he had been seeking a partner capable of offering longevity, legacy and global reach.
“I tried literally everything, and there was a reason that Li-Ning stood tall at the end because the product reigned supreme,” he said.

Curry said his decision to join Li-Ning had also been influenced by Golden State Warriors team-mate Jimmy Butler and former NBA player Dwyane Wade, who both represent the brand.
Until his own model is launched, the four-time NBA champion said he would wear shoes designed by Butler and Wade.
Curry described the end of his relationship with Under Armour as a mutual decision, saying: “I think it was a great run.”
“Sometimes good things do come to an end,” he added. “I don’t have any regrets of how anything happened.”
