Arsenal are considering a move for Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Tavernier, with Manchester United also reportedly interested in the 27-year-old.
Tavernier has made an impressive start to the Premier League season, scoring five times in his first nine appearances since Marco Rose took charge at Bournemouth. His form has prompted interest from clubs looking to strengthen in attacking midfield.
Arsenal and Manchester United track Marcus Tavernier
Arsenal are understood to view Tavernier as a potential source of greater quality and goals in the final third. Manchester United are also monitoring the England-born player as they assess their options in the same area of the squad.
Bournemouth have become increasingly vulnerable to interest in their leading players after several notable departures. Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez moved to Liverpool just over a year ago, while Antoine Semenyo left for Manchester City in January.
There is also reported interest in Alex Scott ahead of the next transfer window, while Arsenal are known to be keen on Eli Junior Kroupi. The prospect of further departures could make it more difficult for Bournemouth to agree to the sale of Tavernier.
The club will be expected to do all it can to retain its key players, particularly after losing several members of the squad in recent transfer windows. Whether Tavernier becomes the next player to attract a major bid remains uncertain.
