Dozens of tickets remain available for Ed Sheeran’s Philadelphia concert, with seats listed for between $56 and $251 just hours before he is due to perform at Lincoln Financial Field.
The show is Sheeran’s first since Macklemore was removed from his 2026 Loop Tour, a decision that has been followed by criticism from artists and controversy over the circumstances surrounding the rapper’s departure.
Listings on StubHub show that tickets for Saturday’s concert have not yet been purchased, despite the limited time remaining before Sheeran takes to the stage.
Macklemore said in an Instagram statement that Sheeran told him during a phone call that Robert Kraft, the owner of Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, wanted him removed from the tour.
According to Macklemore, Sheeran also said that concerts at future venues, including Gillette Stadium, could be cancelled if the rapper did not comply with the instructions.
Macklemore had been criticised for remarks made during a concert in New Jersey that some viewed as inflammatory and supportive of Palestine. His removal prompted the tour’s other three opening acts to withdraw in solidarity, citing the importance of free speech.
Sheeran has faced criticism online and from fellow musicians, including Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, who blamed him for Macklemore’s dismissal.
Sheeran has denied being responsible for the decision, saying in his own statement that Macklemore was removed by the tour promoters.
