Democrats are preparing investigations into Trump administration allies after taking control of both the House and Senate in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
California Representative Robert Garcia warned Republicans to “LAWYER UP” as Democrats celebrated their victory and looked ahead to exercising control of Congress.
Oregon Senator Ron Wyden offered a one-word warning on X: “Subpoenas.”
Illinois Representative Delia Ramirez also posted a list of Trump administration officials and close allies she said were in her sights. It included Kristi Noem, Markwayne Mullin, Tom Homan and Greg Bovino.
Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey referred to the expected Republican probes in a post on X, writing: “They are going to need to plant new forests for all of the subpoenas we’ll be printing.”
Democrats had been in the minority in both chambers since Donald Trump returned to the White House.
Tuesday’s midterm result changed the balance of power, handing Democrats control of the House and Senate and opening the way for investigations into members of the Trump administration and its wider circle of allies.
