Investigators said Marsh was driving a black saloon when he mounted the pavement, hit several pedestrians and then collided with a parked, unoccupied ambulance. The six injured people included three children, aged six, eight and 11, and three women.
All six victims were taken to hospital and were in a stable condition, according to officials. Their names have not been released.
Police said Marsh had been drinking and that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit at the time of the crash.
