Bay Area weather is set to turn wetter on Election Day, with mostly cloudy skies on Monday followed by increasing shower chances across the region on Tuesday.
Monday’s temperatures are expected to range from the low 60s to the low 70s, with conditions remaining largely dry despite the cloud cover.
A new weather system will move into the area overnight, bringing the greatest likelihood of showers on Tuesday, November 3. The National Weather Service forecast for San Francisco puts the chance of rain at 90 per cent, with showers expected mainly before late afternoon.
Rainfall is likely to be light overall, although the North Bay could receive higher totals than other parts of the region. The wet weather is expected to ease by Wednesday, when mostly sunny conditions are forecast to return.
A Beach Hazards Statement remains in force through Tuesday evening, warning of dangerous surf conditions, including stronger rip currents and sneaker waves. People are being urged to stay out of the water and away from jetties, rocks and other exposed areas along the Pacific coastline.
