SiriusXM has promoted long-serving executive Sean Gibbons to senior vice-president and chief product and technology officer, placing him on the company’s executive leadership team and giving him responsibility for product and technology across SiriusXM and Pandora.
Announced on 8 September, the appointment means Gibbons will report directly to chief executive Jennifer Witz. His remit includes product strategy and development, engineering and technology platforms, automotive and streaming distribution partnerships, and advertising technology.
Gibbons joined Sirius in 2000, before the company’s first satellite launch, and has held senior roles across product management, engineering, streaming, automotive, content technology and strategic partnerships. Most recently, he led SiriusXM’s automotive division, overseeing product, user experience, engineering and relationships with car manufacturers.
His priorities in the new role will include developing the SiriusXM with 360L in-car platform, shaping the company’s long-term technology strategy across satellite, broadcast and streaming services, and using artificial intelligence to improve personalisation, content discovery and customer service.
Witz said Gibbons had helped shape some of SiriusXM’s most important product and technology changes and described him as the right person to accelerate innovation and improve the customer experience.
Gibbons takes over the position previously held by Joseph Inzerillo, who left SiriusXM in December 2024. Inzerillo is now president of enterprise and AI technology at Salesforce, where he leads work spanning Slack, Experience and the company’s digital enterprise technology organisation.
Siri XM Holdings, which owns the SiriusXM and Pandora audio businesses, is ranked 463rd in the 2026 Fortune 500.
