Jesse McCartney has said he is experiencing PTSD linked to the complicated birth of his first son as he and his wife, Katie Peterson, prepare to welcome their second child.
The singer told reporters at LAX that he was thrilled to be expecting a baby girl, but said memories of his son’s birth had affected preparations for the new arrival.
His son was born three months prematurely and spent 70 days in a neonatal intensive care unit. McCartney described the experience as a source of traumatic memories for the family.
He said he and Peterson were remaining “cautiously optimistic” that the second birth would be straightforward. So far, he said, everything was going well and Peterson was doing well.
