Jude Bellingham has reportedly agreed a new contract with Real Madrid that would keep the England midfielder at the Bernabeu until 2031.
The 23-year-old joined the Spanish giants on an agreement due to run until 2029, but a report by AS claims he is set to extend his stay by a further two years.
Jude Bellingham’s growing status at Real Madrid
Bellingham is increasingly regarded as one of Real Madrid’s most important players, with the club said to view him as a future leader and figurehead.
That standing places him alongside recent influential figures such as Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal, underlining the regard in which the midfielder is held at the Bernabeu.
He has made a strong impression since moving to Real Madrid and remains a key player for England. His performances have also prompted continued speculation over whether he could one day return to the Premier League.
Bellingham began his career with Birmingham City, although he only played for the club in the Championship before moving to Germany to continue his development with Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United and Liverpool were previously viewed as possible destinations, but neither move materialised. With a new deal at Real Madrid reportedly taking him through to 2031, a return to England may become increasingly unlikely.
If Bellingham continues to perform at his current level and develops into the leader Real Madrid want him to be, he could have the opportunity to establish himself as a club legend.
