Kelly Osbourne has said she had “no idea” how thin she had become after the death of her father, rock star Ozzy Osbourne, until she saw a photograph taken during a dress fitting.
The image reportedly prompted her to confront the extent of the weight she had lost before appearing at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where she joined her family for a tribute to the Black Sabbath frontman.
Kelly, 41, has previously linked her loss of appetite to grief following Ozzy’s death on July 22, 2025, aged 76. Her appearance at the Los Angeles ceremony on February 1 drew widespread attention, with much of the discussion focusing on her noticeably slimmer frame.
She wore a dramatic black gown and a large blonde wig for the Grammys, with the hairstyle helping to frame her face and cover her prominent cheekbones.
In December, Kelly hit back at online critics who questioned her appearance and suggested she was using weight-loss drugs. “My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can,” she said in a video later shown during her mother Sharon Osbourne’s appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Sharon also addressed her daughter’s condition, saying Kelly “can’t eat right now” because she was so upset by the loss of her father.
Kelly later acknowledged that she had not been coping well. In an interview published in August, she said: “I wasn’t well,” adding that she was receiving help and was beginning to feel better.
Ozzy Osbourne was honoured at the Grammys with an all-star performance, six months after his death. Kelly attended the ceremony with Sharon, her brother Jack and her fiancé, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson.
