Twelve people, including six children, were injured in a shooting near a football stadium in Tallahassee during Florida A&M University’s homecoming weekend, police said.
Three of the victims suffered serious injuries, while the remaining nine were in a stable condition, according to Tallahassee Police.
Police said a fight appeared to have broken out before the shooting in a crowded area following a football game. No arrests had been made, chief Lawrence Revell told reporters.
“Tonight, our thoughts are with the victims and their families as they face the devastating impact of this violence,” Mr Revell said. “It is especially heartbreaking to know that children are among those injured.”
Florida A&M University said the shooting took place near its campus, which remained safe.
