Ric Flair has shared a health update after being taken to hospital following a fall while crossing a street in Tampa, Florida.
The 77-year-old former professional wrestler fell on Friday October 23 and was taken by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital. He reportedly suffered cuts to his head and eye, with extensive bleeding, and may also have sustained a concussion.
In an Instagram post the following day, Flair thanked the medical staff who treated him and said his priority was recovery.
“Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger,” he wrote. “Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me!”
Flair added: “Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay!”

The wrestling star also addressed posts made on his Facebook account while he was in hospital, saying he no longer controlled the page.
“I Don’t Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore,” he wrote. “I Apologize For The Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook When I Was In The Hospital. It Was Completely Inappropriate!”
Flair’s fall came hours after he announced that he had cancelled an appearance at a convention in Seattle because of a blood clot in his leg. He said doctors had restricted his travel to journeys of between three and four hours, meaning he could not take the longer flight.
He said he was due to undergo a procedure to stop the affected vein, which doctors expected would allow him to travel more widely afterwards.
In his earlier message, Flair warned that blood clots could be life-threatening and said he needed to follow medical advice while concentrating on getting better.
