Scottish football’s most closely scrutinised VAR decisions will come under review as Willie Collum examines a Celtic goal involving a possible handball and a disputed Hibernian penalty at Ibrox.
The Scottish FA’s head of refereeing will analyse the incidents alongside presenter Gordon Duncan in the latest Scottish Football VAR Review, which looks at key decisions from the Premiership, League Cup and Scottish Cup.
The programme will revisit the circumstances surrounding Celtic’s goal, including the handball question that formed part of the VAR check. The review will also examine Hibernian’s penalty appeal during their visit to Rangers, together with other notable decisions from across the domestic game.
The monthly programme features matchday communication between referees and VAR officials, offering viewers an insight into how incidents are assessed and why decisions are either upheld or overturned.
The Scottish FA and Sky Sports launched the review to provide greater transparency around the use of video technology in Scotland. Collum is expected to explain the relevant laws and the reasoning behind the officials’ actions in each case.
