Liverpool are reportedly considering Hull City goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis as a potential long-term replacement for Alisson Becker, whose contract at Anfield is due to expire next summer.
The 23-year-old joined Hull from Olympiacos during the summer and has made an immediate impression in the Premier League. His form has also attracted interest from Tottenham.
Liverpool assess Konstantinos Tzolakis amid £40m valuation
Tzolakis has kept three clean sheets in his first six Premier League appearances, including shut-outs in each of his opening three matches. That achievement places him among only nine goalkeepers in the competition’s history to have started their Premier League careers in that fashion.
Hull paid about £17 million to sign the Greece international, but his performances have already increased his potential value. A future transfer could reportedly cost as much as £40m.
Interested clubs may begin discussions with Hull next month, although the club is not expected to approve a January departure for the goalkeeper.
Liverpool’s interest comes as the club considers its options beyond Alisson. The Brazilian remains an elite goalkeeper, but uncertainty also surrounds whether Giorgi Mamardashvili will eventually establish himself as the undisputed number one.
Tzolakis has impressed with his physical presence and his ability to play out from the back. He stands 6ft 4in and gained European experience during his time with Olympiacos before moving to England.
Hull striker Oli McBurnie has praised the goalkeeper’s start, saying: “Tzolakis has been top since he has come in.”
A £40m investment would be significant, but Liverpool reportedly view Tzolakis as a player who could potentially occupy the position for many years. If Alisson leaves in 2027, the Hull goalkeeper is emerging as one of the names under consideration.
