Morgan Rogers scored Chelsea’s opener against Hull City after a swift counter-attack at Stamford Bridge, continuing his impressive start since joining the club.
The goal arrived in the seventh minute, with Chelsea moving the ball quickly through the transition before Joao Pedro found Rogers in his stride.
Rogers carried the ball into the penalty area and struck a low, powerful shot which beat the Hull goalkeeper at his near post.

The finish capped a sharply executed move from Xabi Alonso’s side, who exposed Hull with a rapid series of forward passes on the break.
Rogers has made an immediate impact since completing his £117 million move from Aston Villa this summer. The England international has quickly settled into Chelsea’s attacking system under Alonso.
Across his opening Premier League appearances of the 2026/27 campaign, Rogers has recorded two goals and one assist in 259 minutes.
He has also registered 10 key passes and created two big chances, while his ability to carry the ball into the final third has added another attacking threat to Chelsea’s frontline.
