Newcastle United and Everton are preparing to compete for the signing of Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, with both Premier League clubs reportedly willing to invest between £25 million and £30 million during the January transfer window.
The Brazil international is attracting interest from several European clubs after establishing himself as an important part of the Turkish side’s midfield. Napoli and Roma are also understood to be monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation.
Newcastle and Everton target Gabriel Sara
Sara joined Galatasaray from Norwich City in 2024 and has continued to build his reputation with his technical quality, creativity and ability to contribute in the final third.
He has made an encouraging start to the 2026/27 campaign, scoring twice and providing five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions. Those performances have increased interest from clubs seeking greater creativity in midfield.
Newcastle see Sara as a potential addition to their midfield options, while Everton are also looking to strengthen in the same area. His previous experience in English football could help him adapt quickly should a move back to the Premier League materialise.
Galatasaray set valuation for midfielder
Galatasaray are reluctant to lose an influential player and reportedly value Sara at around €40 million. However, the club could be prepared to negotiate a deal closer to €35 million if a suitable offer is made.
The Turkish club’s valuation could force Newcastle and Everton to reassess their proposals, particularly with Napoli and Roma involved in the competition for the Brazilian midfielder’s signature.
