One person has died after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 290 in Manor, Texas, police said.
The collision happened at about 10pm on Friday, October 2, in the eastbound lanes of the highway, just west of Gregg Manor Road, according to the Manor Police Department.
Investigators believe one vehicle approached stationary traffic and struck the rear of another car. The force of the collision pushed that vehicle into a third vehicle.
Emergency responders performed CPR on one of the drivers, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other occupants were injured, police said.
The driver’s identity has not been released.
All eastbound lanes between Threshold Lane and Gregg Manor Road were closed for around three and a half hours while emergency crews dealt with the crash and investigators examined the scene.
The collision remains under investigation. Manor police have not said whether any citations or criminal charges are expected.
Travis County Emergency Services District No. 12, Austin-Travis County EMS, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
