Crystal Palace are considering a move to bring Conor Gallagher back to Selhurst Park if Tottenham Hotspur make the midfielder available during the January transfer window.
The Eagles have retained a long-standing interest in the England international, whose future in north London has come under scrutiny after a limited run of starts under Roberto De Zerbi.
Gallagher, 26, has started only four matches this season and featured in the starting line-up for one of Tottenham’s last six Premier League fixtures. His reduced role could prompt him to reassess his position, particularly with regular football important to his international ambitions.
Crystal Palace monitoring Conor Gallagher’s Tottenham situation
Palace know Gallagher well from his loan spell at the club during the 2021/22 campaign. He made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
His energy, pressing and ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch made him an influential player during his time at Selhurst Park. Palace have continued to admire those qualities since he returned to Chelsea in 2022.
However, a January move is not considered especially likely at this stage. Gallagher remains part of De Zerbi’s longer-term plans, while Tottenham are under no immediate pressure to approve his departure.
Palace would also face competition if Spurs were to open negotiations. Leeds United and Everton are monitoring the midfielder’s situation and could consider making an approach.
The Eagles are therefore expected to keep watch on developments, with any potential return depending largely on Tottenham’s willingness to listen to offers for the former Chelsea player.
