Dallas police are seeking three men accused of opening fire inside a South Dallas convenience store, injuring an innocent customer and narrowly missing a one-year-old child.
The shooting took place shortly after 1am on October 11 at the Little World convenience store in the 4,600 block of Malcolm X Boulevard, police said.
Detective Michael Bui said two men entered the shop before a third arrived several minutes later. The third man allegedly displayed a handgun, prompting the first two to take out a rifle before the men exchanged gunfire inside the store.
Several people were present, including the baby. A customer standing in line was caught in the line of fire and wounded, but survived.
“They miss the baby by inches,” Detective Bui said. He added that the number of rounds fired could have resulted in many more victims.
Police said surveillance footage from inside the shop shows the three suspects’ faces. They are described as young men in their 20s, each approximately 5ft 9in tall and weighing about 160lb.
Detective Bui is asking anyone who recognises the men, or anyone who was inside the store at the time, to contact him. Information can be provided to Dallas police on 214-671-3538 or by email at michael.bui@dallaspolice.gov.
