The autopsy of model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray has been completed, but the cause of her death remains undetermined while toxicology tests are awaited.
Records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office show that the cause of death has been deferred. Officials have said her body is ready to be released following the examination.
Ray, an Australian, died on Sunday at the age of 34. She died in hospital “surrounded by family”, according to the account provided at the time.
The medical examiner’s findings come amid renewed attention on claims made by Ray’s former roommate, Chloe Spence, in a 2024 restraining order petition.
Spence alleged that Ray had on several occasions been in an “intoxicated delusional state” and had taken Xanax without a prescription. She also claimed Ray charged at her, grabbed her face and dug her nails into the skin near her eyebrow.
However, it was later reported that the former roommates had reconciled, and that Spence was with Ray’s family at her bedside when she died.
Ray’s former partner, Mod Sun, also paid tribute to her in a social media post.
