Sia and her estranged husband Daniel Bernad have reached a custody settlement concerning their young son, ending a legal dispute in which Bernad had sought full custody.
Under the agreement, Sia will remain the boy’s primary custodial parent, while Bernad will have substantial visitation. The former couple have also agreed arrangements covering holidays and vacations.
Their son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, is known as “Summi”. The agreement includes provisions for the pair to work with a parenting-plan co-ordinator and sets out a process for deciding which preschool he will attend.
The settlement follows a contested custody case in which Bernad accused Sia of posing a danger to their child. Sia denied the allegations, and a judge rejected his request for emergency custody.
Bernad’s application also disclosed an LAPD investigation involving child pornography found on one of his computer hard drives. The emergency custody request was denied, and Sia has remained Summi’s primary custodial parent.
The couple were later ordered into mediation to resolve their differences. An agreement reached in April provided for Sia to pay Bernad 42,500 dollars a month in child support, while the pair shared legal custody and divided holidays with their son.
The custody dispute has unfolded alongside disagreements over finances. Bernad had previously sought more than 250,000 dollars a month in spousal support, while Sia recently sold half of her music catalogue for 180 million dollars.
Sia filed for divorce in March 2025 after about two years of marriage.
