A man who died after being ejected from a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia was a member of a club for roller coaster enthusiasts, according to a Facebook profile bearing his name.
Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem was listed as having joined the Roller Coaster Enthusiasts Club on 15 March 2026, months before the fatal incident at the amusement park.
His apparent connection to the roller coaster community has prompted messages of condolence from fellow enthusiasts, who have been mourning the loss of someone who appeared to share their passion for the rides.
Preliminary information gathered by Cobb County police indicates that Kariem was riding the Goliath attraction when he came out of his seat. Investigators say he struck other parkgoers before falling beneath the ride.
He was found unresponsive and not breathing. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
Six Flags has temporarily closed nine similar roller coasters across North America while authorities examine what happened.
Investigators are now working to establish how Kariem came out of his seat and whether the ride’s restraints and safety procedures operated as intended.
