Social Security payment dates for November 2026 have been set, with the timing of retirement, disability and survivor benefits determined largely by when a recipient was born.
The month’s schedule is also affected by Veterans Day, which falls on Wednesday 11 November. As a result, some payments will be issued a day earlier than usual.
November 2026 Social Security payment dates
People who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 are due to be paid on Tuesday 3 November.
For most other retirement, disability and survivor benefit recipients, payments are arranged according to their date of birth:
Recipients born between the 1st and 10th of the month are scheduled to receive their payment on Tuesday 10 November. This is earlier than the usual second Wednesday because 11 November is a federal holiday in the United States.
Those born between the 11th and 20th are due to be paid on Wednesday 18 November, while recipients born between the 21st and 31st should receive their payment on Wednesday 25 November.
The Social Security Administration’s 2026 calendar states that people who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income generally receive their Social Security payment on the third of the month and their SSI payment on the first.
When November SSI payments will arrive
Supplemental Security Income is normally paid on the first day of each month. However, because 1 November 2026 falls on a Sunday, the November payment will be made on Friday 30 October.
The payment is not an additional benefit. It is the November SSI payment issued early because the normal date falls at the weekend.
What to do if a payment is missing
The Social Security Administration advises recipients who do not see an electronic payment on the scheduled date to contact their bank or financial institution first, as there may be a delay in posting the funds.
Recipients should allow time for any processing delay before reporting a late, missing or stolen payment. The agency’s published schedule also advises allowing three additional mailing days where relevant.
If the payment still has not arrived, recipients can contact the Social Security Administration on 1-800-772-1213. People who use a text telephone service can call 1-800-325-0778, or contact their local Social Security office.
The administration says it will review the case and replace the payment if it determines that the money is due.
