Candice Swanepoel has said there is no confirmed bad blood between her and Joan Smalls, as speculation continues over whether Tom Brady’s reported romance with Swanepoel affected the models’ longstanding friendship.
Swanepoel’s representative, Amanda Ruisi, said the Victoria’s Secret model continued to respect her relationship with Smalls.
“She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect,” Ruisi said.
Ruisi added that Swanepoel had always been highly private about her personal life and remained primarily focused on raising her two children.
The statement follows reports that Smalls had been seeing Brady before his reported relationship with Swanepoel began. The two models prompted further speculation after appearing to unfollow each other on Instagram.
Smalls also attracted attention by commenting “Two words: SUMMER HOUSE !” on a post about Swanepoel and Brady’s romance.
Brady and Swanepoel have reportedly been quietly dating since June.
The relationship has also led to discussion involving Brady’s former wife, Gisele Bündchen. However, people close to Bündchen reportedly do not view the romance as a betrayal because Bündchen and Swanepoel were never close friends.
