A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at gunpoint by two males after meeting one of them through a dating app in Fairfield, Sydney’s west. The pair have since been charged and refused bail.
Police allege the 18-year-old woman was in a car near Vine Street shortly before 11pm on October 26 with an 18-year-old man and his 17-year-old friend.
Three females and two males had initially been in the vehicle before two of the females left, detectives said. The older male allegedly drove the woman to a nearby location, where the younger male is accused of producing a handgun.
The woman was then allegedly sexually assaulted by both males while being threatened with the firearm.
Members of the public later found her in a park and took her to Fairfield Police Station. She was treated in hospital and is being supported by her family and counsellors.
Two charged over alleged Fairfield assault
Sex Crime Squad detectives arrested the pair on October 27 after searches at homes in Edensor Park and Fairfield Heights.
The 17-year-old was initially charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm and three counts of stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm. The 18-year-old was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm and one count of stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm.
Both were initially refused bail but were later granted conditional bail. Following further inquiries, detectives arrested them again at about 5.30am on November 6.
The younger male was then charged with aggravated sexual assault in company, threatening actual bodily harm with a weapon and four counts of aggravated sexual assault as an offender in company.
The 18-year-old was charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault as an offender in company, intentionally choking a person without consent in a domestic violence context, and aggravated sexual assault in company involving a threat of actual bodily harm with a weapon.
Both men appeared in court on Friday, where they were refused bail.
