Three men are due in court in Minnesota on Wednesday over their alleged involvement in the disturbance that preceded a shooting at an Eden Prairie High School homecoming football game.
Abdirahman Ahmed Jama, 18, Omar Adan Abdullahi, 19, and Mahamed Ali Haji, 20, each face a riot charge linked to unlawful force or violence. Their first appearances are scheduled for 9.30am in Hennepin County Court.
The charges stem from an incident on October 2, when a fight broke out during Eden Prairie High School’s game against Minnetonka. Police intervened and several people, including Musab Ibrahim Aden, were removed from the stadium.
Prosecutors allege that a second confrontation involving about 10 people then developed in a nearby car park. Investigators say a black Hyundai Sonata and a blue Subaru Legacy arrived before the fight escalated.
Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, is accused of returning to his vehicle, retrieving a firearm and shooting at Aden and another person. Adam, who prosecutors identify as the alleged gunman, is charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and second-degree riot. He appeared in court on Monday and was released on a $100,000 bond, with conditions including surrendering his passport, avoiding Eden Prairie High School and having no access to firearms. Eden Prairie homecoming shooting investigation
Authorities have said they believe the people involved in the fight and shooting had gang connections, although the charges relate to the alleged conduct described in the court documents. The football match was halted and the stadium evacuated after the gunfire.
Aden, 18, who was one of the two people shot and had also been ejected after the earlier fight, faces a further riot charge. An active warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Jama was also charged on Tuesday in a separate case arising from a weapons incident outside Eden Prairie’s graduation ceremony in June. Police allege that he threw a firearm magazine on to a car seat after officers stopped a vehicle at a church car park, where a pistol was found nearby. He is accused of possessing a pistol without a valid permit.
The case has prompted tighter security at Eden Prairie’s next football fixture against Eastview. Officials said spectators will enter through separate entrances for each team, pass through metal detectors and show a valid student ID; backpacks will be prohibited and only clear bags or small purses allowed.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said Adam’s case followed an investigation by Eden Prairie police and the county’s investigations and intelligence division. The inquiry into the shooting remains ongoing. ([hennepinattorney.org](https://www.hennepinattorney.org/news/news/2026/October/adam-charges))
