Alexander Skarsgård made an eye-catching appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Wicker, wearing a shirt printed with the face of his co-star Olivia Colman.
The 50-year-old actor attended the screening at the Directors Guild of America on Tuesday, wearing a custom Chopa Valowena outfit consisting of a long-sleeved shirt, a pink-and-green skirt and Colman’s image across the front.
Skarsgård was joined on the red carpet by his younger brother, Bill Skarsgård, who posed with him at the event. Their father, Stellan Skarsgård, had shown his support for the film at a New York screening several days earlier.
Colman and Elizabeth Debicki also attended the premiere, with Skarsgård pictured alongside both of his co-stars. Debicki plays the Tailor’s Wife, while Colman portrays the Fisherwoman.
Debicki wore a Kallmeyer dress with Calzedonia tights, Manolo Blahnik shoes and an Engelbert 1920 ring. The film’s writers and directors, Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, were also present.
What is Wicker about?
Wicker is a comedic fable about sex, marriage and social convention. It follows an ostracised fisherwoman, played by Colman, who commissions a husband from a local basketmaker, portrayed by Peter Dinklage.
When her wicker husband, played by Skarsgård, proves more remarkable than she expected, his spirit and abilities trigger jealousy, fascination and upheaval in the village.
Wicker is due to arrive in cinemas on Friday, October 23.
