PSG beat Barcelona 4-2 in a thrilling Champions League contest at the Parc des Princes, with Lamine Yamal’s brilliant equaliser quickly followed by a superb Vitinha strike to restore the French side’s advantage.
The match remained finely poised after an eventful opening hour in which PSG twice took the lead and Barcelona responded. Yamal brought the visitors level with a fierce finish from a tight angle after Warren Zaire-Emery’s difficult header fell into his path.
Zaire-Emery had only just entered the game when he was asked to judge a high, dropping pass while running. His header landed for Yamal, who moved around the PSG substitute before sending the ball over the goalkeeper.
Vitinha restores PSG lead against Barcelona
Barcelona’s response lasted only two minutes. Vitinha met a bouncing ball on the edge of the area and used excellent technique to drive a finish beyond the goalkeeper, putting PSG back in front.
The visitors appeared to have little left as the game entered its final stages, allowing PSG to add a fourth. Fabian Ruiz took advantage of Joao Cancelo’s lapse in concentration to arrive at the near post and tap in.
Ruiz’s finish completed a remarkable late spell for PSG, who held on for a 4-2 victory after both teams had contributed to an outstanding contest in Paris.
