Alan Bersten is replacing Val Chmerkovskiy as Jenna Dewan’s dance partner for week six of Dancing with the Stars, after Chmerkovskiy was suspended for one week.
Bersten, who was eliminated earlier in the season, will perform with Dewan during Dedication Night. The pair are due to dance a Viennese waltz to Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers.
Addressing the temporary partnership, Bersten wrote: “I am so honored to be stepping in and dancing with @jennadewan you are such a light and it’s so beautiful to see you and your mom share the floor.”
Dewan’s mother, Nancy, will also take part in the performance. The programme’s Dedication Night will feature dances honouring the influential people and places that have shaped the contestants’ lives.
Chmerkovskiy’s suspension followed a post directed to judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Bersten has stepped in while Chmerkovskiy serves the one-week suspension.
Former Dancing with the Stars professional Kym Johnson, a two-time Mirrorball champion, will return as a fourth guest judge for the episode.
