Dylan Sprouse has said he and his twin brother, Cole, are “children of incest” after discovering that their parents’ families had intermarried generations before their own parents met.
The former Disney star made the claim during an episode of the Wildmen podcast, explaining that the family connection dated back to California in the late 1800s.
According to Sprouse, the two branches of the family later went their separate ways before unknowingly coming together again when his parents married.
He said he contacted Cole after making the discovery and sent him photographic evidence. Cole, however, was unwilling to examine it.
“He goes, ‘Not looking at that,’ closed it, hung up on me,” Dylan recalled.
The discovery followed Dylan’s finding that both sides of the family had a history of twins. He said his mother’s side alone included seven sets across four generations.
Dylan treated the revelation with humour, joking that he did not have webbed toes.
Summing up the family history, he said: “Long story short, Cole and I are children of incest.”
