A metal bracket fell off a roller coaster at Six Flags Cedar Point in Ohio, forcing the Millennium Force ride to close after the component reportedly landed in an area used by guests.
The incident happened on Friday when the bracket came away from one of the coaster’s cars. No one was struck or injured by the falling piece of machinery.
Millennium Force has since resumed operations, according to a Cedar Point spokesperson, following maintenance inspections and all required safety checks.
“The ride has resumed operations following the successful completion of maintenance inspections and all required safety checks,” the spokesperson said in a statement given to local outlets.
The park said the safety of its guests and team members remained its top priority.
The incident follows a series of other problems involving Six Flags attractions. Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, died last week after falling from the Goliath ride at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Six Flags Magic Mountain in California is also facing a lawsuit from parkgoer Simon Kasawa, who alleges he was injured on the CraZanity attraction. The park recently settled a wrongful death lawsuit connected to Christopher Hawley’s death after a ride on X2 several years ago.
