Arsenal are monitoring Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso ahead of the January transfer window, with Manchester City and several other Premier League clubs also understood to be interested in the Italy international.
The 26-year-old has attracted attention for his ability to play at either full-back position, while also possessing the technical qualities to operate in midfield. His versatility has made him a potential target for clubs seeking defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal face competition for Andrea Cambiaso
Cambiaso’s ability on both feet, defensive strength and intelligence in possession are understood to have appealed to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. He could offer the Gunners additional width from defence while moving into central areas when his side have the ball.
Manchester City are also keeping a close watch on the Juventus player, with Pep Guardiola potentially viewing his tactical flexibility as a suitable fit for the club’s approach.
Barcelona could join the competition if they sell Alejandro Balde. The Spanish club are reportedly considering an offer of between €20 million and €25 million, which could include a player exchange.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are among the other clubs said to be tracking Cambiaso’s situation.
Juventus set €40m asking price
Any January move could prove difficult, however, with Cambiaso contracted to Juventus until 2029. The Serie A club have reportedly rejected approaches for the defender and are seeking between €30 million and €40 million before considering a sale.
Arsenal would therefore face significant competition if they decide to formalise their interest, while Juventus’ firm stance could make an agreement challenging to reach during the winter window.
