Under the Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities, the companies have pledged to establish “robust” internal controls covering cybersecurity, biosecurity and chemical…
Olivier Martinez has filed for a temporary restraining order against his former partner Halle Berry, alleging that she physically attacked their 12-year-old son, Maceo. Martinez claims Berry jumped on the boy, placed her hands around his neck and choked him during an incident last Saturday. He says Maceo later called him and described the alleged attack, adding that he believes it was not an isolated incident. According to the filing, Berry was at home with her boyfriend, Van Hunt, while Maceo was playing a virtual-reality game in his bedroom. Martinez alleges that Berry entered the room in an angry state…
Wales beat Norway 2-1 in Cardiff to secure their first Nations League A victory, recovering from Oscar Bobb’s early goal before Neco Williams completed the comeback shortly after half-time. The result was a strong response from Craig Bellamy’s side after their disappointing defeat by Denmark. Wales began slowly but grew into the contest, with Sorba Thomas posing a constant threat from the left. Norway took the lead in the 11th minute when Bobb finished after a precise assist from Martin Odegaard. Their advantage was tested soon afterwards when Julian Ryerson was forced off with an injury. Thomas continued to trouble…

The Philippines has become the largest importer of West Australian wheat, overtaking Indonesia as demand from the South-East Asian market outstrips Indonesian purchases. The shift comes as the Philippines strengthens its position in the global wheat market, while a growing domestic crop trend in Indonesia affects demand for West Australian supplies.
A federal judge has blocked Donald Trump’s firing of Roger Rogoff, ruling that the president cannot unilaterally remove the US attorney appointed by a district court to lead the federal prosecutor’s office in Seattle. US District Judge Stanley Bastian ordered that Mr Rogoff be reinstated as US attorney for the Western District of Washington until the Senate confirms a replacement. Mr Trump nominated Simon Peter Serrano for the role last month. Mr Rogoff was appointed by federal district judges in the region on 15 July and took the oath of office. The president dismissed him less than an hour later.…
A dentist who helped restrain an alleged attacker on a Flydubai flight has described how the man repeatedly begged passengers to kill him after stabbing the captain in the cockpit. Flight FZ1073, travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, descended more than 14,000ft in under 30 seconds while the confrontation unfolded at 34,000ft over Saudi Arabia. Passengers eventually pulled the co-pilot from the cockpit, tied his hands and feet and helped care for Captain Smit Machchhar, who had suffered serious wounds. The aircraft was landed safely at Tabuk airport by reserve crew members who were on board. Shota Musaev, a 47-year-old…
Nike’s fiscal first-quarter earnings beat Wall Street expectations, but the sportswear company’s revenue fell short of forecasts and its shares dropped about 4% in extended trading. Disney president Dana Walden has raised doubts about the business case for late-night television while praising Jimmy Kimmel’s performance and leaving open discussions about his future with ABC. Speaking to Bloomberg’s Screentime, Walden described late-night programming as “very challenging” in its traditional broadcast television slot. She said Kimmel’s ratings were increasing, but added that they were rising within a smaller overall late-night audience. “That’s not to say that Jimmy is not doing a phenomenal job, and his ratings are up, but they’re up relative to a smaller audience that’s watching late night on broadcast television,” Walden said. Kimmel’s online reach…
