Barcelona are continuing to monitor Harry Kane’s situation at Bayern Munich as they consider alternatives to Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
The Catalan club are seeking a major attacking signing following Robert Lewandowski’s departure in the summer and have previously been in contact with Kane’s representatives.
Kane is expected to agree a new contract with Bayern, but reports suggest Barcelona remain interested in the England international. Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is also understood to be among their options.

A move for Kane would be ambitious given his apparent willingness to remain in Munich. The former Tottenham striker has indicated that discussions over his future are expected to begin soon, with only a year remaining on his current deal.
“I’m not sure exactly when, but they’ll start this week, next week… we’ll start those talks,” Kane was quoted as saying last month.
He added: “Like I’ve said before, we’re calm, I think they’re calm with the situation.
“Obviously now is the time to start talking, because there’s only a year left. That’s important. But both sides are relaxed, and I’m pretty sure there’ll be some talks this week or next week.”
Barcelona’s interest could become more significant if negotiations between Kane and Bayern fail to make progress, although the German club are expected to try to retain their leading goalscorer.
The figures underline why Kane and Haaland would be attractive alternatives for Barcelona. Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 appearances across all competitions during the 2024-26 period, compared with Haaland’s 72 in 100 and Alvarez’s 49 in 106.
