Comedian and YouTuber Charleston White has been arrested in Florida on suspicion of battery, days before he is due to perform at a comedy show in Naples.
The 49-year-old was taken into custody by the Hollywood Police Department on Saturday and later booked into Broward County Jail.
Arrest records list one count of touch or strike/battery, a misdemeanour. The case is marked as pending trial, with a bond of $0 while it awaits review by a judge.
Details of the alleged incident have not been made public.
White is scheduled to appear next Wednesday at the Off the Hook Comedy Club in nearby Naples. It is not clear whether his arrest will affect the performance.
His arrest in Florida is not his first encounter with the criminal justice system. Nearly two years ago, he was arrested in Texas on one count of animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He was accused of pepper-spraying a cat, allegations he later denied. His combined bond was reported to have been set at $31,000.
In February 2025, White was arrested in the Fort Worth area on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was held without bond before being released several days later and subsequently said the charges had been dropped.
White’s criminal history dates back to his teenage years. At 14, he was convicted of murder for his role in a Foot Locker robbery in Arlington, Texas, during which a co-defendant fired a fatal shot.
He served time at a Texas Youth Commission facility before being released in 1998. He later studied criminal justice at college and founded an outreach programme called Helping Young People Excel in 2012.
The Fort Worth native has more than 250,000 followers on YouTube, where he regularly comments on hip-hop, crime and current cultural events.
