A statue of Charlie Kirk outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters has been vandalised with red spray paint, prompting an investigation by the organisation and a response from his widow, Erika Kirk.
Images shared by TPUSA showed paint smeared across the statue’s face and neck, with a frowning face sprayed on the front of the figure. A nearby memorial sign was also defaced, with the name Jesus crossed out in red.
TPUSA said it was reviewing surveillance footage and working with law enforcement to identify those responsible.
The organisation said the statue and signs would be repaired, describing the vandalism as “diabolical” and adding: “Evil never sleeps.”
Erika Kirk responded by saying Charlie had believed in building more when others tried to tear things down.
“They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice but it only made it louder,” she wrote, adding that the spray paint would spread his legacy further.
Addressing the damaged religious sign, she said crossing out the name of Jesus would not silence Christians.
“We’ll put His name right back where it belongs, clean up the mess, restore Charlie’s statue, and keep building,” she added.
