A dead horse left outside a Harris Health System clinic in Houston has prompted concern among residents, with the animal reportedly remaining at the site for several days.
The horse was found outside Settegast Health Center on North Wayside Drive in Harris County, where a nearby resident said it had been left since at least Saturday, September 5.
Houston’s 311 service logged a dead animal collection request for the address, 9105 North Wayside Drive, on Monday, September 7. The report was routed to the relevant department, but it was not immediately clear when the horse would be removed.
Settegast Health Center provides primary and specialist care, including optometry, podiatry and psychiatry, as well as pharmacy and laboratory services. The facility is listed by Harris Health as operating from Monday to Friday.
Harris Health System had not provided a statement on the situation. The circumstances surrounding the horse’s death were also unclear.
