Rebecca Gayheart was supported by her daughters Billie and Georgia as she attended the opening night of Jawbreaker: The Musical in Hollywood, months after the death of their father, actor Eric Dane.
Gayheart, 55, appeared with Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14, at the Hudson Backstage Theatre on September 4 for the first performance of the stage adaptation, which is running in Los Angeles until September 20. The appearance marked Gayheart’s return to a role from the 1999 cult film, in which she played Julie Freeman. In the musical, she takes on the part of Principal Sherwood, as well as the role of Detective Vera Cruz. Dane, best known for playing Dr Mark Sloan in Grey’s Anatomy and Cal Jacobs in Euphoria, died aged 53 in February after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Before the production opened, Gayheart told E! News that the family was adjusting to life after Dane’s death and described the period as “a season of growth for all of us”.
