Four men have been arrested in California and Georgia over the February shooting of San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White, who was wounded in the ankle outside a Mission District club.
The arrests followed an eight-month investigation by the San Francisco Police Department, dubbed “Operation D-Line”. Police said the case began after the shooting on February 9 and culminated in a series of arrests in October.
Four arrests after San Francisco shooting
Marquis Davis, 38, was arrested at his home in Atlanta on October 7. San Francisco police said officers recovered an illegal firearm, 820 grams of MDMA, 1,026 grams of methamphetamine, 979 grams of cocaine and 3,842 grams of fentanyl.
Antoine Washington, 36, was arrested in Stockton on the same day by San Francisco officers working with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. A loaded firearm and more than 120 oxycodone pills were recovered, police said.
Curtis Green, 35, was arrested at his home in Irvine, while Gregory Walker, 36, of Mountain House, was detained by Los Angeles police on Friday.
Green and Walker were booked into San Francisco County Jail on charges including assault with a firearm. Authorities are working to bring Davis and Washington to San Francisco to face charges in connection with the shooting.
Keion White shot during altercation
The shooting took place shortly after 4am on February 9 on the 1700 block of Mission Street, outside a business in San Francisco’s Mission District.
Police said a verbal confrontation had taken place between two groups before shots were fired. White, then 27, was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his ankle. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The San Francisco 49ers subsequently identified White as the victim. The investigation remains active, and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact the department.
