Chicago rapper Chadwick Clark, known professionally as LoWick, had previously been convicted over a hit-and-run crash before he was killed during an FBI-involved operation in Dixmoor, Illinois.
Clark, 22, died on Wednesday, 28 October, near 145th Street and Cooper Avenue as federal agents carried out a court-authorised operation. The FBI said one person was killed and that none of its personnel were injured; the circumstances of the shooting remain under review.
Five people were taken into custody after the operation, although authorities have not announced any arrests. Dixmoor police assisted in securing a perimeter while federal agents and tactical officers worked at the scene. Previous conviction followed 2022 crash
Clark’s earlier conviction related to a collision on Interstate 57 near 147th Street in Posen on 24 May 2022.
Illinois State Police said a Dodge Charger struck a Toyota Highlander, forcing it off the road and into two other vehicles stopped on the hard shoulder. The driver of the Charger fled, while the occupants of the Highlander and a Mercedes-Benz were taken to hospital.
Clark was identified as the driver. Cook County court records show he was convicted of failing to report a crash involving injury and sentenced to three years in an Illinois prison. ([fox32chicago.com](https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/new-details-emerge-about-rapper-killed-federal-agents-dixmoor))
After Clark’s death, the son of one of the crash victims said online that his mother had been left paralysed. He said the family continued to live with the consequences of the collision but also offered condolences to Clark’s relatives.
Clark’s family has questioned the circumstances of the fatal FBI shooting. His sister, Nia Cole, said he had been hiding in an attic and disputed any suggestion that he posed a threat, although the FBI has not publicly detailed what happened immediately before agents opened fire. The bureau has said its Inspection Division is reviewing the incident in line with FBI policy. Officials have not disclosed the warrant being served or released a detailed account of the events inside the property.
