Google has begun rolling out the September 2026 Google System update for Android phones, with the latest release focused on bug fixes and maintenance rather than new user-facing features.
The update brings Android System Intelligence to versions B.29 and C.7, dated 3 September. Google’s notes describe the changes simply as fixes and general maintenance for phones.
Android System Intelligence supports a range of on-device Android functions, but Google has not detailed any specific changes included in this release. The update is separate from a full Android operating system upgrade and forms part of Google’s monthly system updates, which also cover services used by tablets, Wear OS devices, TVs, cars and PCs.
On a Pixel phone, users can check for system service updates by opening Settings, tapping their name at the top, selecting Google services, then All services, Privacy & security and System services.
Google’s release notes do not guarantee that an update or capability will be available to every user immediately. System components and related features can be distributed in stages, meaning some devices may receive the September 2026 Google System update later than others.
