More than 100lb of methamphetamine has been seized from two suitcases at a Houston-area airport in an operation involving the US Drug Enforcement Administration and Houston Police Department.
The DEA Houston Division announced the seizure on Thursday, October 15, but did not identify the airport or say when the drugs were discovered.
Images released by the agency showed packages of suspected methamphetamine removed from the luggage. No arrests or charges have been announced in connection with the seizure.
In a statement posted on social media, the DEA Houston Division said the operation demonstrated the value of co-operation between law enforcement agencies in targeting drug trafficking through the country’s transport network.
The agency said it had worked alongside Houston police to disrupt an attempt to move the drugs through the airport. Further details about the investigation were not immediately released.
