Phoenix reached 82F on Saturday as high pressure brought clear skies and warm, settled conditions to the Arizona city, while flood warnings remained in force across parts of Maricopa County.
The sunny spell is expected to continue into next week, with temperatures staying in the low 80s and little sign of widespread rain in the forecast.
Despite the calmer weather, authorities are continuing to warn residents and visitors about dangerous conditions along local rivers and waterways. Flooding linked to upstream dam releases has affected parts of the Salt and Verde rivers, making recreation near the water unsafe.
The Maricopa County Flood Control District said river and flood-related warnings should still be followed, even as conditions turn dry and pleasant. People have also been urged to avoid flooded crossings and never attempt to drive or walk through moving water.
Building high pressure is expected to keep the region quiet at the start of the coming week, with mostly clear skies, light winds and temperatures around the upper 70s to low 80s.
