The Plano Balloon Festival has opened in Texas, with FOX 4 reporters Steve Eagar and Dan Henry meeting visitors and speaking to fans at the family event.
The festival is being held at Oak Point Park in Plano from Thursday, September 17, to Sunday, September 20, with hot-air balloons, live music, food vendors, rides and entertainment planned across the weekend.
More than 40 balloons, including a series of specially shaped designs, are expected to feature during the event. The balloons are scheduled to glow on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting.
FOX 4 is a sponsor of the festival and has a booth at the fairgrounds where visitors can meet presenters and reporters, as well as take part in activities and prize draws.
Balloon launches are scheduled for 7am on Saturday and Sunday. The programme also includes parachute displays and nightly laser shows, with organisers warning that balloon activities may be changed or restricted if weather or wind conditions make them unsafe.
