A 34-year-old father was seriously injured in a St Petersburg shooting after an argument with his 18-year-old stepson early on Sunday, police said.
Officers were called to a home in the 4300 block of Cherry Street Northeast at about 4.20am on 13 September following reports of gunfire.
Initial information indicated that the two men had been arguing when the father was shot, according to the St Petersburg Police Department.
He was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for treatment. Police have not released an update on his condition.
The 18-year-old stepson left the property after the shooting and remained the subject of a police search, officials said.
Neither the father nor his stepson has been publicly identified. The circumstances surrounding the domestic dispute and shooting remain under investigation.
Police described the inquiry as active and said further information would be released as it was confirmed.
